Cuentan las crónicas de nuestra Hermandad que la imagen de un San Juan fue encargada a Ángel Álvarez en 1891. Posteriormente se le encargó una nueva imagen del San Juan a Antonio Illanes Rodríguez en 1935. Esta imagen fue pasto de las llamas en el luctuoso incendio de 1942 en San Jacinto.
En 1944 el propio Antonio Illanes Rodríguez realiza esta obra que acompañó a la Virgen del Mayor Dolor y al Cristo de las Aguas hasta 1973 en la que fue sustituida por la imagen que hoy conocemos de Luis Álvarez Duarte.
